Fantastic stroller

We have had the city-series for about a year now and could not be happier with it.
The steering is incredibly smooth and easy on hard surfaces (literally one-finger works). Yet, it has worked on the soccer field and in winter slush. The ride over our cracked old sidewalks is much cushier than our old "standard" stroller.
The one-hand folding works like magic and it folds very compactly (fits easily into my Camry's trunk). We also love the "any position" recline which uses a draw-cord sort of mechanism to position the back at any angle. The sun canopy is very generous, leaving only the feet exposed.
Finally, it is truly a long-term stroller. Our 16 mos daughter has loved it from day one, and our 6 yr old son, at 57 lbs, borrows it from her occasionally, (e.g., after a full day of walking around the zoo), and is comfy in it!
Only thing we are not crazy about is the access to the under-basket (very hard to get to).
Overall, we are very pleased with it and many of our friends have said they would like it for their next stroller.

love my babyjogger

i'm writing a review because i relied so heavily on them to determine which jogging stroller to buy. i was only considering the baby jogger & the
BOB revolution , because these are the two i had been hearing the most about. i ultimately decided on the BABY JOGGER City Series for three main reasons 1) ADJUSTABLE HANDLEBAR - i'm 5'8" and my husband is 6'2" - it's super easy to adjust and we don't have tight backs from our too-short stroller anymore 2)ONE-STEP FOLDING MECHANISM - you seriously grab one strap in the middle of the seat and it collapses in on itself. doesn't get easier than this for a 3-wheeled jogger 3) JOGGER VS. EVERYDAY - i use it 5 out of 7 days for jogging in the park and the entire 7 days a week as our everyday stroller. you could push it with one finger, it maneuvers like a dream, and fits store aisles - even the grocery store aisles in nyc. that's huge. in pushing around the BOB i felt like it was more stroller than i needed. both the
BABY JOGGER and the
BOB have the swivel vs fixed wheel option and i have to say that i've only used the fixed once and found it hard to steer so i just don't lock it when jogging around the curves of central park and haven't had one issue. it's perfect. if i had to do it over again i'd buy a
BABY JOGGER in a heartbeat - i only wish i would have gotten the
City Classic . the difference is so slight that i couldn't find it when i was researching and just bought the plain old City Series. of course a month or so later when i wanted to buy the belly bar i saw that the City Classic is the one with the accessory mounting bracket that allows you to attach the belly bar, snack tray, or jump seat. DOH. i wish i would have known this - they look EXACTLY the same! i don't blame joggingstroller.com (phenomenal vendor, wonderful customer service) but i think BABY JOGGER could make a larger distinction in their comparison charts.
and beyond that, my only complaint is that the car seat adapter is a pain in the arse to put on and take off. this seems to be true for all joggers though, since this isn't their main function. i wasn't going to jog with her in the car seat (although you can, but it's a hard enough workout pushing just the baby in the stroller!) but wanted the option for mobility. we live in manhattan and when you're going from one place to the next via car and then want to use the jogger when you get to your destination (beach, vacation, hometown) it is just a lot of work. i'm so spoiled now - i hate the snap-n-go after pushing the dreamy BABY JOGGER!

Front Wheel

We love our Baby Jogger City Series jogging stroller, in fact we call it the cadillac, until recently. One of the main reasons we purchased this model was for the ability to lock or unlock the front wheel. I prefer to have the wheel unlocked when running to allow for manouverability up and down sidewalks and around corners. However, the slightest bump causes the whole stroller to start shaking and wabling uncontrollably. Unfortunately, I now need to deal with a warranty claim.

Front Wheel Problem

We were extremely happy with our Baby Jogger until recently the front wheel started to stick when turning. The front plate seems to now be loose and there does not seem to have been any incident that caused this to happen. Now the pram is very frustrating to take shopping because turning is very difficult. We are going to have to claim warranty on the pram and hopefully the issue is corrected with the front wheel. Prior to this problem the pram was wonderful and the turning circle was fantastic. I often get stopped by people commenting on the bassinet. The hight of the bassinet is perfect for nappy changes on the run and our baby boy sleeps in there very comfortably.

We like this stroller!

We like our Baby Jogger City Series quite a bit. It's incredibly smooth over our bumpy neighborhood sidewalks and streets -- feels like you're pushing a feather. And the fold-up feature could not be more simple or easy. My two small complaints are: 1) The straps are a pain in the arse to adjust, and 2) our baby is still pretty small and it almost tips over if you're not careful.

Very pleased

I read alot of reviews of strollers before deciding on the City Stroller. I have been very pleased with it. I purchased the car seat adaptor since my daughter was just over three months old when it arrived. I needed to start training for a triathlon and couldn't wait the recommended six months. The adaptor is great - she's very secure and I can use the car seat's canopy to keep her out of the wind and sun. And I get to keep my eye on her since she faces me.
The stroller does veer a bit to the right and I haven't bothered to try to fix it yet because it hasn't been enough of a problem. I can push it with one hand while running and keep it straight.
The stroller I bought was on sale so I think it was an older model. It doesn't have a latch to keep it folded which is a bit of a pain since I have to mount it on hooks in our garage due to space limitations. We keep it folded with a couple of small bungee cords. I understand they have added this feature with the new model.
The small zipper compartment is hard to access while the seat is upright because the strap is in the way.
The stroller arrived very quickly and it is a smooth ride. I'm very pleased with my purchase.

Dog Walkers' Best Buggy

We needed a stroller for uneven and snowy sidewalks that could keep pace with our energetic Siberian Husky -- we have been VERY pleased with Baby Jogger City Single. Smooth ride, highly maneuverable, not-too-big but can take on snow banks. We only wish for a cup holder (but that would mean giving up on great adjustable handle -- I am short, husband is tall). Easy to move one-handed, when we do need to hold coffee. Harness system is easy and comfortable for baby. We do not jog; we do not fold the stroller away frequently or pack it in car, so I cannot evaluate on those needs. We have been using the stroller for approx 4 weeks.

Pretty good, not perfect

First of all, I was very disappointed that it took over 2.5 weeeks to get my complete stroller. I received the stroller after 1 week but the front tire was missing from the box. Strange, I know. I would think that would be impossible if the manufacturer had some sort of quality control in place. Anyway, without question they sent me a new tire but it took over a week. All in all, I had to wait nearly 2.5 weeks after placing my order to finally use it!
The Pros:
Folds up very easily and nicely, although I think I would prefer if the fold mechanism actually clicked. It looks modern and nice. I've received several compliments on the color (artic blue) and the style. My little guy is very comfy in it. He has fallen asleep on almost every ride in it! The zipped pockets are quite handy. Overall, it's a pretty smooth ride for very light jogging. Also great at the mall or for walks.
The Cons: I have issues with the harness sometimes. The buckle has to be pushed at a specific angle and on each side which is slightly difficult for some reason. I always feel like I'm about to break a nail when I need to unbuckle it. For jogging, the front tire wobbles like mad on the swivel setting. A couple times while I was jogging it literally spun out. I was heading downhill and apparently too fast for the wheel to handle. I also noticed this happens a lot if I ever just pick up the pace a little bit during my jog, the wheel goes nuts and I feel like I am about to lose control.
Comments from The Staff:
I apologize for your shipping mishaps. If you have any further questions or concerns please contact us at 1-800-887-0218 or contact the manufacturer directly at 1-800-241-1848. In response to your wheel spinning out while jogging, that is a perfect example of why this stroller is not recommened for jogging. For fast pace jogging or running you may want to consider a fixed 16" wheel stroller.
