I have read a lot of the comments on here. The straps being uneven is a very easy thing to fix. It is how you have them attached in the back. Read your owner’s manual to help you out or go to your local fire station and they can help you or carseat safety place.
We got this seat when our son was 9 months because he was too long for the infant seat. It was hard having it rear-facing in our vehicle-Toyota 4 Runner. He is now 2 years old and we are still using it but he does have a long upper body and I wish that we could move the straps up one more because he only weights 27lbs but when we bought it we knew that he would hopefully be able to use it until we needed it for the next child. It washes great! I let it air dry. Just be careful taking it off with all the plastic attachment pieces. We are starting to look for the next seat for him because it is getting harder to tighten the straps since they need moved up. We have been pleased with the Graco brand of products!
Great seat – The harness straps are adjustable!

This seat is great for the price! I read some of the reviews where the parents stated that their children had to hunch over because of the harness straps. I thought I was going to have the same problem and was going to return the seat. Then my husband found that the straps are adjustable. If you turn the seat over there are two places to adjust the straps. The seat comes with the straps hooked in the middle for a small baby/child. You just have to unhook them and rehook at the very bottom of the straps. Also, you can move the buckle that is between the childs legs forward or back. My 2 year old daughter is in the 95th percentile for height and she fits just fine with alot of room to grow now that my husband found where to adjust the harness straps. I hope this helps because a child should not continue to sit in a seat that forces them to hunch over. The other great thing is that this seat has a recline stand attached to the bottom so you can put it in a vehicle without having to stuff towels or a pillow under the seat like I have to do with my $300 carseat. If you don’t need the stand it easily pushes in and locks under the seat so you don’t even know it is there.

I had the same exact problem as the previous customer from Salem, OR who said it was mediocre. Our daughter just turned one and is now getting too big for her snugride. So we put her in the comfortsport. She has a long torso and the straps are now at the maximum shoulder height. Our daughter is also not a huge baby, just long. So now the shoulder straps force her to slouch down. We received this as a shower gift and only took it out of the box a year later. We don’t have a receipt so can not exchange. After trying this out for a week we are now shopping around for a Britax Marathon or Roundabout 50.

I love this seat. When it came time to putting my little girl rear facing in a bigger seat, i really wanted the Britax, but considering I needed three seats, I really couldn’t afford the $280.00 per carseat. The more I researched car seats, people seemed the think that the Britax were so good mainly because they were large and could be used for a long time. I came across the Graco that is a whopping $200.00 less and comparable in size! I have a camry and the seat would only fit in the center back seat while rear-facing because it is a large carseat. My husband has an F150 and the seat fit great rear-racing in his truck. Once the seat is forward-facing, it will fit anywhere. All of our other baby gear is Graco and I have had great luck with their well-made products. I have been impressed with this seat and would (and have) recommend it. On the flip side, I do have to straighten the straps once a week to make sure that they are even. But the task is easy, and is well worth the savings!!!

We bought this carseat when our son outgrew his snugride at around 4 months of age (yes he was chunky). He now is 19 months old (32 inches and 30lbs) and still in his comfort sport. We did have the same problems as described in other reviews. The straps were a little uneven at times but easily fixed when you pulled the other strap a little and his head would flop down when he was asleep. I reclined the seat to the absolute allowed max with a towel and that worked. As he got older his head wouldn’t fall forward no more. I cannot complain about the Comfort sport. Actually I’m thinking about buying one for our 6 week old daughter since she hates the reclined position of the snugride and likes to sit up more.

When I was looking for a bigger car seat, I settled on this one because a few reviews mentioned how it survived car accidents. I am SO GLAD we had this car seat a few weeks ago when we were in a bad accident on the freeway. My daughter (2 yrs) walked away without a bruise even though her dad and I both had some injuries. I know it’s a bit big, but we had it secured properly in our two-door Honda Accord with only minor difficulty and it performed it’s most important function – keeping our daughter safe when it was most vital! So relieved…I’m back to purchase a new one per our insurance company’s request (you’re not supposed to use a car seat after it’s been in any kind of accident). (I’d give it four and a half stars if I could, since it does make her slump a bit when she sleeps).

I couldn’t believe how fast I received my car seat. So far we have had NO problems with our METROPOLITIAN COMFORTSPORT. The only thing I would complain about is how it was packaged. When we took it out of the box it didn’t have plastic covering the carseat. Because of that, there were pieces of lint from the cardboard all over it. Did this happened to you? Anyway, I still recommend this to anybody.

We are very disappointed that we spent $100 on a seat that we expected would last us until our child is 3 or 4 years old. I was satisfied with the seat even though we had some slight strap issues when she was a newborn. now she’s 10 months old and we need a new carseat because it can’t handle her height rear facing. she’s almost at the top slots and the more her shoulders are above the holes the more strap issues we have. This car seat will NOT work if you plan on extended rear facing a child to the weight limit. My daughter is only 60th percentile on height and weight, so it’s not like she’s huge or anything. Now we have to go shell out more money for a Britax so that she can stay rear facing longer than a year. We could have spent that in the begining and not wasted our money on something that we could have spent towards the Briax in the begining, next child we will be going straight for Britax

First of all, this seat is definately not the top of the line. It is quickly outgrown, but if you know that and are saving for a bigger forward facing seat, such as a Radian, Regent, Frontier, or Natulius, it’s not a bad buy. We bought it, didn’t like the uneven tightening, bought a Britax Decathalon for one car and a Marathon for the other. But we kept this seat and sent it to grandma’s. Well, now we have a need for a third seat for work, but didn’t have the money yet to shell out for a new seat. He has almost outgrown the seat, but he does still fit. This seat has just come in handy and it is comfortable. Not the best, but not the worst ever. It’s comfy and not an insanely bad seat if you have another primary seat.
Better for forward facing only

Great buy if you want to only use it for forward facing, but I had a really hard time adjusting the harness straps when she faced the rear. You have to pull down on the strap and the seat is up against the back seat so I always ended up hurting my hand in the process.

We own two slightly different versions of this car seat and love them both. It is extremely comfortable with the pediatric foam and our son loves riding in it. It was very easy to install with the LATCH system and a bit harder with just a seat belt, but not too bad. It is also very easy to adjust the straps. We are very happy that we spent the extra money to get some of the added perks to make it more comfortable as we take a lot of long road trips. Best of all it gets great safety reviews.

I have been using this carseat for 6 months and I really like it so far. It fits nicely in my car (I drive a sedan) and my son seems very comfortable. I was hesitant since we had problems with the straps on our Graco infant carrier, but so far so good. We have not had any problems with the straps. They are even and do not get twisted. I also found it easy to install.

I have been using this carseat for just over a month now. I really like the actual seat and so does my 1 year old but the problem is the straps. They are terrible. They are never even and very difficult to position. The buckle feels very cheap to me as well. I would not buy this seat again and would not recommend it too anyone. Its a good design for the seat but the straps…terrible.

I just purchased this seat a few weeks ago, and love it. I had purchased the Britax Marathon because I had originally liked the higher weight limit and it is supposedly a higher rated seat. However, upon getting it I was concerned that the seat seemed very shallow and did not have a lot of depth in the seat and the sides. It did not seem to have the side protection of other seats (sides were shallow). Also, the crotch strap seemed short and I saw it becoming an issue getting the belt connected and also an issue when she gets bigger. I did some research and purchased the Graco Comfort Sport and I am returning the Britax. Much better in terms of protection for safety and also it seems she will not outgrow it as soon as I saw her maybe not even making it up to 65lbs. The Comfortsport goes up to 40 lbs. but I also decided that after that I may want a regular booster and may not want/need the 65lb. limit anyway. Why spend $269+ when you can spend $79+ (we got the basic Comfortsport) and get a better seat? It was easy to install and the straps seem fine. The padding also seems comparable to the Britax and seemed superior to other types of seats I saw in the store. Overall great buy and I would recommend.
Latch broke after 1.5 years of use

Reviewer: Anonymous , Rocky River, OH Date: March 30, 2007
The seat is functional overall but like other reviewers we had frequent frustration with the straps twisting and easily becoming uneven. My biggest complaint is that after 1.5 years of use the screws which held the latch in place came out and could not be rescrewed since the holes were stripped. I could tighten the seat most of the way pulling down but to get it as tight as I was shown at the safety check I had to pull up for the last bit. This is what eventually broke the latch no doubt. I am now trying to find a car seat with a better latch system for my two year old.

We have the Metropolitan version of this as well as the Britax Decathlon (for the other car), and this seat is actually easier to get my son into and out of! I do not have any problem adjusting the straps as claimed in other reviews, but that might be based on the car and how the seat fits. I currently have it rear-facing for my 8 month old. Although it’s not as plush as the Britax, my son doesn’t seem to notice the difference at all. So for less than half the price of the Britax, this is a very good seat! I highly recommend this. I would normally have bought 2 of these, but I did want one of our seats to last longer (Britax is rated to 65 lbs, this is only rated to 40 lbs).
Nice Seat, hard to adjust

We really liked the looks of the seat, and the baby seems to prefer it to our other. However, the strap is a ratchet type strat, and hard to adjust in many cars. If the seat it is installed in has a greater depth than the seat, loosening and tightening the straps is hard. Our other seat is an EvenFlo and it has a knob to tighten and loosen. That is much easier, but the baby seems more comfortable in the Graco.

We bought two of these carseats. One is for my 3 year old, and we put our younger child in the other one rear facing starting at age 3 months when he got too big for his infant seat. I’ve had to take the covers off to wash them a few times, and I’m so glad I don’t have to take the whole seat out to do so! Both boys seem comfortable and don’t complain (too much!) about sitting in them on long trips. It is definately MUCH more cushy than our old carseat, which only had a thin pad of foam. The only thing I don’t love about this seat is that you can’t adjust the straps easily when it’s rear-facing because that part of the seat is pressed against the back seat of the car. I can’t think of any way this could be fixed though, since it is very easy to adjust once the seat is turned to forward facing. I would recommend this carseat to my dearest friends.

I have had this seat for about a month now. It fits in both our cars.. even though it is a bit snug in my geo and you have to move the passenger seat all the way up but thats ok. It is easy to get in.. and even though the straps are hard to adjust while rear facing (its not impossible) it isn’t that big of a deal if you do it before you put the seat in your car.. the seat is soft and looks good. and for the price compaired to the other seats on the market it is great.

I bought this car seat for my year old son since our old carseat had been in an accident. I like the way the seat looks and the padding is great. I had a problem with the seat being too upright. I kept the carseat for my next child, but also bought the Graco carseat that comes with a snooze bar. It helps keep the carseat reclined a little bit. Overall…they are both great seats. The straps sometimes twist, but they always twist right back.
Overall, this is a good seat at a great price!

I purchased 2 of these seats because my vehicle was stolen & all my car seats were gone when they found the vehicle. I do daycare so I had to purchase 2 seats at reasonable prices. The seat is easy to install & comfortable for the kids. The only complaint I have is when you pull on the strap to tighten it, it never tightens them evenly. It always only makes one strap tighter, not both. Other than that, I like the seats. I have not found a seat that doesn’t have a flaw, even the expensive Britax. This Graco seat is worth the money.

This seat is just ok. I bought it as a second seat for my husband’s car. I have the Britax in my car. While rear facing the straps were difficult to adjust for my son. It would tighten more on one side then the other. Once turned to face forward it is much easier to adjust and works fine. I do wish I had just spent the extra money on an additional Britax though.

We tried a bunch of different brands at the local baby big box store and kept coming back to the Graco for style and ease of use. No matter if you order the seats, go to a local store and try them in your car / van / SUV etc . . . first. These convertible seats are BIG. We ordered this seat because we loved the fabric style ( Metropolitan ) on our Infant seat and wanted it for the convertible seat as well. We could not get this seat anywhere locally. This newer style seat also has the impact foam for 2005 production. The 2004 versions do not. Fitting ANY convertible seat into a compact car is tough. This seat is no exception. In rear-facing mode, I had to move the passenger seat all the way up. Anyone who rides now has to ride in the back with the Baby. Once we can turn it to forward facing, we will be back to normal. The seat also fits tight in the minivan and we have to have the front seat about 2

My baby weighed almost 11 pounds at birth. He is only 6 months old now and weighs 21 pounds and is 30 inches long. It was so important to the pediatrician and I that we had a car seat that was rear facing until he was at least 30 pounds. This was one of the few and the only one that had all of the features of comfort that I wanted in a seat for my baby.
The car seat is awesome!
I highly recommend this affordable car seat for anyone who loves to pamper and keep their baby safe in the car! And the best part is that, you can use this car seat for a while since they’ve made it to hold heavier baby’s, under and over a year!

we had to break down and buy another convertible seat for my husband’s truck. I have the combi avatar in my car and it is way too heavy and cumbersome to move from vehicle to vehicle. Plus the avatar is very hard to get Eli in and out of. So, after much research online, i chose this graco seat. my husband was elated and i am quite jealous of him – because this seat is so much easier on all counts. we have no complaints with this seat. compliments on top of my head – good price, didn’t have to pay shipping, light, easy to get Eli in and out of, easy to hook up in car/truck, nice looking. I briefly saw some earlier comments on this seat about not comfortable for child to sleep in. Eli has no problem sleeping in this seat and he does not look uncomfortable in it.
