Britax Parkway SGL Booster Seat Description

Britax introduces an added level of safety to its belt-positioning booster seat by including an ISOFLEX LATCH connection system to the Britax Parkway SGL. The ISOFLEX Flexible Lower LATCH Connection System secures the booster seat to the vehicle, stabilizing it during a crash and preventing it from becoming a projectile when not in use. The Parkway SGL also includes popular safety features previously introduced on the Parkway SG< such as an anti-submarining SecureGuard and True Side Impact Protection.

Standout Features:

  • Includes ISOFLEX LATCH System for secure installation
  • SecureGuard works with the vehicle safety belt to prevent submarining
  • True Side Impact Protection provides ample protection
  • High-back to backless conversion accommodates kids 40 – 120 lbs and 38″ – 63″
  • Quick-Adjust Head Restraint easily adjusts for a more comfortable fit

Benefits for You: The Britax Parkway SGL makes keeping your child safe easier than ever with backless to high-back capabilities. The high-back option provides optimum safety with True Side Impact Protection (TSIP) while the backless mode makes hopping from carpool to carpool easy to do. Install the Parkway SGL using the ISOFLEX Flexible Lower LATCH Connection System to keep the seat from bouncing around your car when not in use.

Both the high-back and backless modes make use of Britax SecureGuard, an anti-submarining safety device that works with the straps of your vehicle’s seat belts. Submarining is a term used to describe a dangerous, sometimes fatal, situation in which your child slides under the lap belt portion of their safety belt during a collision. Keep your Parkway SGL clean with the removable, easy-to-clean cover.

Installation: The Britax Parkway SGL booster car seat can be installed using the ISOFLEX Flexible Lower LATCH Connection System. Simply attach the Lower Anchor Tethers to your vehicle’s Lower Anchor Attachment points and pull on the adjuster strap for a snug fit to your vehicle seat. Installing the Parkway SGL with LATCH secures the booster car seat to the vehicle, preventing it from becoming projectile when not in use and stabilizing it during a crash.

The Britax Parkway SGL can also be used like the previous Parkway SG belt-positioning boosters by simply routing the vehicle belts through the color-coded pathways and passing the lap-portion of the belt through the SecureGuard tab.

Note: Your vehicle may state a weight limit for its LATCH anchors, but this weight limit does not apply to booster seats with LATCH. Since the Lower Anchors on a booster seat are only intended to secure the weight of the booster seat itself (approximately 10 lbs in this case), the vehicle’s lap and shoulder belts secure the weight of the child. Because of this, you can use LATCH with the Parkway SGL in its belt-positioning booster mode up to the 120 lb weight limit.

Benefits for Big Kids: Kids ride in the lap of luxury thanks to cushy high density comfort foam. The retractable cup holders give your little one a place to keep sippy cups and snacks, while armrests provide a comfortable place to rest tired arms. As junior grows, adjust the headrest to achieve the best fit. The Parkway SGL accommodates children from 40 – 120 lbs and 38″ – 63″.

For maximum safety, Britax includes the innovative SecureGuard strap that works with your vehicle’s seat belts to prevent submarining. In high back mode, the Parkway SGL provides celebrated Britax True Side Impact Protection to distribute crash forces, shield from vehicle intrusion and keep the head, neck and spine aligned.

Safety:

  • True Side Impact Protection
  • Anti-submarining SecureGuard
  • Energy absorbing foam
  • Meets or exceeds FMVSS 213

Comparison: A great alternative to the Britax Parkway SGL is the Sunshine Kids Monterey Booster. The Monterey car booster seat incorporates anti-submarining protection with a unique ramped seat and reinforced seat bottom. The Monterey has the same high height and weight limits as the Parkway (63″ and 120 lbs) and a lower weight minimum (30 lbs).

The Monterey is also a convertible full-back to backless booster car seat. In contrast to the Parkway SGL, the Monterey adjusts by both height and width, but has a wider footprint than the Parkway so it may be a tighter squeeze in some cars.

For another full-back booster car seat with LATCH installation, check out the Cybex Solution X-fix. Although the X-fix does not convert to a backless booster seat, it accommodates children from 33-100 lbs, and 38-60″. Like the Parkway SGL, the Cybex features side impact protection and easily adjusts to accommodate growing children.
